The private, local-first workspace, now built for teams. With SSO, central admin, and the data sovereignty your security team will actually approve.
From identity and admin to the daily workspace — everything your organization runs on, in one sovereign place.
No more shared logins or copy-pasted invite links. Your team uses the credentials they already have, and IAM stays where it belongs.
See every workspace your company runs. Add and remove members in one place. Audit access without opening twelve different spaces.
Central control over identity and org-level permissions. Your team's content is encrypted in transit and at rest, with org-controlled access.
A unified knowledge base for your organization. Pages, wikis, and documentation that stay private and secure.
Secure real-time communication integrated with your knowledge base. No more scattered conversations.
Manage customer relationships and contacts with complete data ownership. Your client data stays yours.
Plan and track projects with kanban boards and task management. Data encrypted in transit and at rest. Same database your knowledge base lives in — link a doc to a task, a task to a client, a client to a project.
Track company assets, devices, and inventory in a secure database that only your team can access.
Maintain a private employee directory with sensitive HR information protected by encryption and Swiss data law.
Built from the ground up with local-first privacy and regulatory compliance. For full sovereignty, self-host on your own infrastructure.

Data is encrypted on your device before it syncs, and encrypted at rest on our infrastructure. For zero-knowledge, self-host.
Your data lives on your devices first. Works offline, syncs peer-to-peer. Deploy on your own infrastructure for ultimate control.
Build custom integrations with our open API. Model Context Protocol (MCP) support enables seamless AI agent collaboration.
The sync protocol Anytype is built on, any-sync, is MIT-licensed and open source. The infrastructure your team's data moves through is auditable code, runnable by self-hosters.

The two products have different key models, and one app can't honestly serve both.
Personal Anytype is zero-knowledge: you hold every key, and no one — not even us — can access your content.
Anytype for Business uses SSO (Google, Microsoft, your identity provider) and a centralized admin panel. To make that work, our infrastructure has to hold encrypted key material on your team's behalf, which means it's no longer zero-knowledge.
Combining both models in one app would either break SSO, or quietly downgrade the privacy guarantee of personal users. So we built Business as a separate app, with a separate download, separate accounts, and a separate identity model.
Because for Anytype for Business, it's not strictly true.
End-to-end encryption in its strongest sense means even the provider can't decrypt your content. To support SSO and central admin, our infrastructure handles encrypted private key material, so we have the technical capability to access content, even though our policy is that we don't.
Here's what is true:
That said, this is still meaningfully more private than typical team SaaS. Notion, Google Workspace, and similar tools hold your content as plaintext on their infrastructure. We never do: content arrives encrypted, and the key material itself is protected by master-key encryption. Self-hosting closes the remaining gap to zero-knowledge.
Two paths:
1. Use personal Anytype with multiple users. Personal Anytype is zero-knowledge by default. You can collaborate by sharing spaces between accounts. You won't get SSO or a central admin panel, but no one (including us) can access your content. Best for small or technical teams who handle their own access management.
2. Self-host Anytype for Business. You get the full Business feature set — SSO, admin panel, central member management — but your team operates the key infrastructure on your own servers. We never see your keys. Zero-knowledge, on your terms. $300/month flat.
Yes, this works today, with no special migration tooling required:
Your content moves over intact. Only the ownership and access model changes.
Your local data stays on your devices. Anytype is local-first, so the source of truth lives with you, not on our servers.
Cloud file sync stops at cancellation, but content stored on our servers is not automatically deleted. We keep it until you explicitly request deletion. This means you can resume your subscription later and pick up where you left off, or request a clean wipe at any point.
You can also export your organization's data through the admin panel before or after cancelling. See the Privacy Policy for full retention details.
